Emily graduated from Furman University with her B.A., magna cum laude, in Business Administration. She then obtained her JD, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was a member of the Georgia Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers for her participation on championship Moot Court and Mock Trial teams.
Desiring to put her litigation skills to work, Emily came back to Greenville and began her legal career as an associate at a national labor and employment law firm. She represented business clients in cases involving claims such as employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract or non-compete agreements, and improper wage payment.
Emily has litigated in multiple forums, including arbitration, state, and federal court. Her goal for her clients, whether they are individuals or businesses, is to guide them through the litigation process while making all efforts to find practical solutions to meet their personal or business needs.
- Experience in arbitration, state, and federal courts
- 10+ years of experience
- Obsessively focused on how legal problems impact real people
“Not many things rattle me, so candor and courage drive my practice. My focus and speciality is in labor and employment, and I bring that knowledge to bear by proactively pointing out the areas where you may be risking your shirt in how you accommodate, compensate, or communicate with your employees. Clients don’t always like to hear it in the moment, but they always thank me when they avoid a suit.”
